Kistler PN is probably very good. I typically do not pay more than $20-$25 for a bottle of wine. There are many Pinot Noirs that are very over priced and the market will eventually sort them out. The trick is finding the good PN under $20. The best I have found is La Crema.

The 2003 Pinot Noir Cuvee Catherine has a ruby/purple color, a big, ripe, framboise and currant fruit nose with some floral notes, forest floor, and a touch of new oak. Mature, with dried cherry, plum and cedary oak flavors. The anise and fruit flavors are appealing, yet it ends with a tannic aftertaste. Drink now. 2,048 cases made. -JL Wine Spectator. A Pinot Noir wine from California in USA. 2003 Kistler Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 750ml

In this case, I preferred the Cuvee Catherine to the 2003 Pinot Noir Cuvee Elizabeth, which reveals raspberry, pomegranate, cherry, and plum notes, crisp, tart acidity, some flowery characteristics, a lovely, medium-bodied mid-palate, and a good fini... Winemaker's Notes:

"Burgundian... pure and impressive" says Robert Parker. This crisp and lively pinot noir from the rock-star Kistler Vineyards team delivers a tart, medium-bodied first impression and finishes with a burst of red fruits. Another remarkable vintage. The wine is just hitting its stride. Extremely limited.
