Disappointing. Not bad, but I expected better. No detailed tasting notes.

Whoa. 15% alc/vol. Aromas of pepper, plum, cherry, and roasted herb. Bit of confected cherry on back end of aromas. Taste of plum, roasted coffee, and mint, with some spice box in the finish. Even though huge, in better balance. A lot of wine, but it you like that kind of syrah, this is a good one.
For the price this is really good

Aromas of blueberry and blackberry pie are tight and a bit astringent, turning lean and tannic. Needs decanting. Drink now through 2011.
Serves up a tasty mix of blackberry and wild berry flavors woven in with mineral and pebble notes, ending with a touch of tobacco and sage. Drink now through 2012.
Dense, full-bodied and tannic, with dry flavors of blackberries, smoked meat, violets and cedar. Solid, but a bit rustic. Needs rich meats to resolve its edgy contradictions.
A sleeper of the vintage, the 2005 Syrah reveals blacker fruit than the 2004, more pepper, creme de cassis, pine forest, and underbrush characteristics in its full-bodied, deep style. With good underlying acidity and ripe tannin, it should evolve nicely for 5ndash;7 years.
A reasonably good value, this smoky, slightly herbal, olive, black currant, and licorice-scented and flavored Syrah is a round, easy-to-appreciate wine meant to be consumed over the next 2-4 years.
