Kingston Family Vineyards:
The Kingston Family first came to Chile in the early 1900's. Carl John Kingston, the patriarch and pioneer, came to Chile looking for copper (good idea) and gold (crazy idea). "Gramps" Kingston was an American originally from Central Mine, Michigan, which exists only as a ghost town today in Michigan's upper peninsula.

This Syrah is known for it's "Old World charm"; think Northern Rhones spicy, dark fruits and peppery aromas. You might not mistake it for a Côte-Rôtie, but you will enjoy its unmistakable varietal character.

Is it a cliché yet to say that a new world wine has "Old World charm?" This wine held its own at an Old World-heavy tasting and we were extremely impressed. It is inky, full of dark fruit and peppery aromas; you might not mistake it for a Côte-Rôtie, but you will enjoy its unmistakable varietal character.
