King Estate Pinot Gris 2010
Editorial Reviews for King Estate Pinot Gris
Lots of sweet fruit on the nose with lightly spicy floral tones and nice creamy apple notes. A touch sweet on entry, then quite bright with acids that really refresh the palate. Very green apple-flavored with an intriguing tropical element that recalls papaya. This is intense and fairly complex, only falling short on the slightly modest finish. Great fruit and freshness. 88pts
This is a really nice summer wine, full of citrus and acidity. Lemon and green apple on the middle, nice mouth feel with just a touch of spice. Somewhere between a Napa Sauvignon Blanc and an unoaked chardonnay.
Bright tropical fruity nose, with ginger, basil, and mint. The mouth is peachy, with fresh acidity and a minerality that carries into a smooth finish.
Medium bodied wine with notes of limes and key lime. Spritz of CO2 and acidity on entry, with a slightly sugary finish. Good minerality, its well balanced. Clean and fruity.
This is a great pinot gris that is light and refreshing with a clean finish. I have blind wine tasting parties at my house and I have purchased this wine as my entry and it has won a couple of times!! Easy for summer drinking and pairing with summertime dinners!
Light, crisp and clean, refreshing. Makes me think of summer.
A wonderful splash of flavor. Initial taste is grapefruit. After warming a bit pear, stone fruit and faint strawberry. Crisp yet not sour or tart. Medium body mouth feel. The fruitiness exploded when paired with midlle-eastern fare (hummus, tabouleh, and hashwi). After 2-3 hours, the empty glass had aromas of straw. A great sensory experience.
