Food Pairings for Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough Sp Mark II Spitfire
A consistent SavBlanc every vintage. Wonderful balance between citrus, crispness, and slate finish. One of my favorites - pairs well with summer foods especially form the grill.
Great QPR on this. Pale, almost translucent in color, with grass, melon, and grapefuit on the palate. More of a palate impression than an aroma impression. More complex and interesting than most at this price point. Had with chicken cobb salad and avocado dressing.
Very good. Pale straw color, almost translucent. Crisp, brisk, with pronounced gooseberry and kiwi flavors. Excellent QPR.
Typical grassy, nettly aromas of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, though well controlled. Gooseberry notes spiked through with lime flavours, smooth acidity. Fresh, and not as herbal as some competitors. 87.
light to med is all aspects! this wine continues to impress vintage after vintage for her consistency and excellent representation if New Zealand fruit! Lovely Summer Wine!
Another example of herbaceous NZ Sauvignon Blanc - drink now a refreshing drop
I love this wine. It is very crisp and I can actually taste the fruity flavors.
2005 MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC Selected from various low yielding vineyards in the Wairau, Brancott, Waihoepai and Awatere valleys, these Sauvignon Blanc grapes were machine harvested and protectively handled. After juice clarification the wine was innoculated with pure, aromatic yeast strains and cool fermented. Once dry the wine was stabilised, filtered and bottled. ANALYSIS AT HARVEST Brix: 22.5 Titratable Acidity: 9.6 g/l pH: 3.2 WINE ANALYSIS Alcohol: 13.0% Titratrable Acidity: 7.8 g/l ph: 3.29 Residual Sugar: 4 g/l TASTING NOTES Colour: Pale straw with touches of green. Aroma: Classic Sauvignon characters of gooseberry, passionfruit, figs and a touch of herbaceousness. Palate: Unfolds with flavours of passionfruit, gooseberry and subtle herbaceousness. The wine is mouthfilling with good texture and finishes well with crisp acidity and great length. Food Match: A great aperitif. Ideally suited to asparagus, oysters and summer salads. Cellar: A wine to drink now and, with careful cellaring, will last up to five years.
