One of the reasons why New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs have taken the world by storm. Delightful to the point of exuberance, this is a great wine for drinking alone of with lighter fare.

The 2006 Central Otago "Rise-and-Shine" Creek Pinot Noir was sourced from the Clearvue vineyard in Bendigo. A divine expression of Pinot Noir, it has a lovely nose with a sense of controlled opulence: red cherry fruit, Doris plum and blueberry. The palate is full-bodied with good fruit concentration, very pure with fine tannin structure, and a mixture of both red and black cherries on the mineral-rich finish.
Bright, dark red with ruby highlights. Brooding aromas of dark berries and brown spices. Juicy, spicy flavors of rooty dark berries, bitter cherry and licorice. Offers good lift and life but shows a fairly heavily extracted quality and finishes with pronounced tannins. I'd wait a year or so before pulling the cork.
