Kim Crawford Pinot Gris Marlborough 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Fruit for our Pinot Gris comes from five to seven year old vines grown in silt, river stone soils which are cropped throughout the season to ensure optimal concentration of flavour and acidity profile. Upon harvest, grapes are destemmed and pumped to press. Juice is drained immediately and left to settle for 36-48 hours. Fermentation then commences using a range of yeasts chosen for their ability to enhance the flavour profile and palate weight. The wine is then stabilized, filtered, blended, and bottled ready for your enjoyment.

Kim Crawford Wines:
One of the reasons why New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs have taken the world by storm. Delightful to the point of exuberance, this is a great wine for drinking alone of with lighter fare.

Chilled to perfection is how I like to drink this Pinot Gris. Fruity and smooth. I really like this wine.

Nice soft wine. Well balanced, with a long finish. Light and buttery. Great for pre-dinner drinks

Wine Tasting NotesPale straw with a green tint. Ripe apple and pear are accented by soft nutty and butterscotch notes. Stone fruit and subtle oak lead to a full and rich palate.

Ripe and intense, with very good depth to quince, green pear and lime flavors. Salt, green almond and stone notes linger, with dried lemon skin on the finish.
