Kim Crawford Pinot Gris Marlborough 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

This varietal is an attractive, delicately perfumed alternative to Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This Pinot Gris is all about texture and flavour. Light aroma of pear, peach and nectarine; medium in body with an exceptional balance between fruit sweetness and acidity. This wine will leave a lasting impression. It’s a great mate with many friends and matches particularly well with Asian food.

Kim Crawford Wines:
One of the reasons why New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs have taken the world by storm. Delightful to the point of exuberance, this is a great wine for drinking alone of with lighter fare.
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Chilled to perfection is how I like to drink this Pinot Gris. Fruity and smooth. I really like this wine.

Nice soft wine. Well balanced, with a long finish. Light and buttery. Great for pre-dinner drinks

Wine Tasting NotesPale straw with a green tint. Ripe apple and pear are accented by soft nutty and butterscotch notes. Stone fruit and subtle oak lead to a full and rich palate.

Ripe and intense, with very good depth to quince, green pear and lime flavors. Salt, green almond and stone notes linger, with dried lemon skin on the finish.
