Kim Crawford Hawke's Bay Merlot 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

The grapes for this Merlot were hand harvested at optimal ripeness from the Corner 50 Vineyard in Hawkes Bay. They were then fermented on skins in a 8 tonne open top fermentor at 30 Deg max, and hand plunged 3 times daily. Following malolactic fermantation the wine was matured in a mixture of new and old Oak barrels for 16 months.

Kim Crawford Wines:
One of the reasons why New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs have taken the world by storm. Delightful to the point of exuberance, this is a great wine for drinking alone of with lighter fare.

Tasting Notes:

Ripe and well rounded. Sweet plum and berry notes with smooth tannins and a long complex finish.
