Deep garnet in color with crimson hues. The intensely perfumed nose leads with spicy plums and blueberry confit, backed by pepper spices and charry oak. Textured and generous, the palate follows suit with fresh plums and cherries, a generous mid-palate of ripe berry fruits and a finish of ripe, dark chocolatey tannins and balanced acidity.

Classic aromas of black pepper, grilled meat and blueberry are joined on the nose by hints of light toast, menthol and wood spice. There is very good focus in the mouth to the meaty, layered fruit with blueberry and blackberry notes backed up with white pepper and spice tones. Really lovely purity and balance here, though one could ask for a little more length, it is still fine drinking. 88pts
