Add your reviewStrong out of the gate, with tart black cherry, blackberry and floral wafts on the nose. Spreads clearly to maintain distinctive notes. Zingy, pleasant acidity gives firm suppose to a medley of dark fruit flavors. Combines cherry liveliness with big bold percussive underthemes. Exhibits notes of forest floor, damp ferns, roots, kiwi and green apple, along with truffles, smoked meats, petroleum, and Chinese Hot Mustard. After two hours, plum and dark fruits emerge with chocolate to sweeten and balance the pungent acidity and give even greater breadth and depth to the palate. Salivation on the finish throughout. A wonderful Shiraz.

Amazingly, the 2002 Shiraz Oracle is slightly better than the 2001. Boasting extraordinary intensity to its graceful, blackberry, coffee, and roasted meat characteristics, this unctuously-textured, seamlessly built, massive Shiraz possesses terrific purity, a multilayered texture, and a long, heady finish. The alcohol level must be between 14-15%. The tannin is covered by considerable glycerin, so this wine can be drunk now, and will keep for 12-16+ years.

Dark ruby. Explosive aromas of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and smoked meat, with abundant oak spice. Velvety and fat, even unctuous in the mouth, with kirsch, blackberry preserve, mocha and licorice candy flavors carrying a heavy load of tarry oak through the rich, fat finish. Seriously concentrated, rich and exotic shiraz, but the oak is dominating the fruit today.
