Kilikanoon Clare Valley Oracle Shiraz 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Advocate Review Rated 92 The 2005 Shiraz "Oracle" was aged in 100% French oak, 50% new. Purple-colored, it exhibits aromas of cedar, damp earth, mint, blueberry, and blackberry. Made in a focused, racy, elegant style, it has luscious flavors, excellent balance, and a long, pure finish. It has several years of aging potential but can be enjoyed now and over the next 15 years. Wine Tasting Notes Low yielding Shiraz from a single 40 year old vineyard was fully ripened, fermented in open-topped fermenters, basket pressed into new and one year old French oak hogsheads and allowed to mature for 24 months. Ripe, spicy plum, coffee, chocolate and oak char notes persist on the elegant palate.
