Kies Family Deer Stalker Merlot 2010
The 2009 Deer Stalker Merlot is a soft red with very light tannins and a hint of sweetness on the finish. A great summer drink, it can be chilled according to taste. It is made from 100% Merlot fruit from young vines and represents a unique style in the Barossa Valley. The nose displays a heady mix of rich ripe strawberry, raspberry and cherry. Very smooth on the palate with nice warmth. An easy-drinker that is best-drunk while young.
We found this on a wine tour 2 years ago. Since then we've also had a case delivered home in Melbourne. Great wine.
My Son is drinking this now in Oz and is so impressed he's phoning me in England to tell me to find and try some over here! And that's the 2010 vintage he's drinking!
