Kenwood Zinfandel Yulupa 2009
The Yulupa Zinfandel comes from select vineyards that were picked at the peak of ripeness to increase the intense fruitiness of the wine. After fermentation and aging in oak barrels, a small amount of Barbera was blended in to add body and a bit of acidity to balance the character of the wine. After a long growing season, the grapes were harvested in September and early October. The wine was aged for 14 months in French and American oak barrels, creating complexity of bouquet and softened tannins. The Yulupa Zinfandel has been crafted to showcase the inviting fruit qualities that Zinfandel is associated with.
