Kenwood "Vintage 2009
Our quality, value-priced red wine is made from grapes sourced from some of California’s best known grape growing regions. The 2009 vintage is a perfect everyday drinking wine, full of ripe fruit and spicy character in both the mouth and nose. Gentle tannins and a lively mouthfeel round off this accessible, easy-drinking wine. The base of our 2009 Vintage Red is Zinfandel that is primarily sourced from hillside vineyards in Lake County and Old Vine Zin Vineyards in the Lodi region. A bit of Sangiovese, Syrah, and Barbera are added to provide complexity and flavor. Each vineyard is carefully picked at the peak of ripeness and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation is complete, the components of the blend are kept separate and aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 16 months before bottling.
