User Reviews for Kenwood Vineyards Reserve Chardonnay

Winemaker's Notes:

The grapes for the 2011 Kenwood Reserve Chardonnay were sourced from the Russian River Valley, well known for producing excellent Chardonnay. One third of the fruit was grown on our estate vineyards. Cool weather prevailed throughout the spring and summer of the 2011 growing season, allowing the light crop of grapes to ripen slowly preserving their natural acidity. Harvested in late September and early October the fruit was whole-cluster pressed and settled before fermentation in French oak barrels. After undergoing malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged on the lees for six months. The resulting Chardonnay balances fresh fruit and baked apple flavors with a rich, creamy texture and long finish.
