Kenwood Russian River Pinot Noir Rose 2008
A surprise at $15! #2 rated wine at my recent May horizontal tasting of 2007 Sonoma pinots (the Belle Glos Meiomi was #1). Smooth, nice color, immediate attack of berries and cherries. Seemed to not benefit from breathing.
A little thin. Quick finish.
Nice nose. Delicate. A little thin with very little lingering.
Subtle cherry and white pepper finish. Great wine, great price, great year -- one of my favorites.
Light fresh nose, strong up front with crancherrytasticness. Appropriate dryness and a little short on the finish. Not terribly complex, but quite enjoyable. Good value in a domestic pinot 88pts
Nice spicy, peppery character to this pinot, almost like a pinot-zin hybrid. It has all the great qualities of a good Russian River pinot noir with that added bonus. Try it! P.S. It got even better and more complex the second day. It keep evolving and for the money, it's a great pinot!!

Kenwood has done a very good job crafting a delicate, lighter-bodied Pinot that's rich in real varietal flavor. Polished cherry, cola, pomegranate, coffee, rhubarb and Asian spice flavors, with a balanced finish.
A little one-dimensional, this soft Pinot has forward flavors of cherries, raspberries, cola, vanilla, mint and smoke. It's an easy wine to like, with a silky texture and clean, spicy finish.
Offers a savory mix of dried berry, sage, cedar and mineral flavors. Medium-bodied and well-balanced, ending with dried herb notes. Drink now through 2015.
Breathe in the oak and apple wood smoke, breathe out the scents of cherry skin. This wine is tight and light in body, yet there's a gelatin thickness backing up the texture. The fruit is shut down and needs to grow into that texture - as it may well do over the coming year.
Strawberry, raspberry and black cherry flavors are bright, focused and concentrated, with modest tannin and a hint of toasty oak. Drink now through 2007.
Offers an earthy cherry-rhubarb edge, with mineral and spice flavors that are clean and pleasantly earthy, ending with a baked pie flavor and firm tannins. Drink now through 2013.
