Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes on the Kenwood Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2005 : WINEMAKER NOTES: Intense aromas of cherries and black raspberries followed by subtle aromas of rose petals and spice; rich, full-bodied texture with a smooth, long finish. The grapes for this Pinot Noir were grown in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley viticultural appellation. The Russian River empties into the Pacific Ocean, and serves as a channel for the cool ocean fog to move inland from the coast. Kenwood produces its Russian River blend from vineyards located off River Road, where the rocky soil and the ocean's cooling influence create the ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir grapes. Twenty five percent of the grapes were grown on estate vineyards. The 2005 vintage produced a bountiful harvest of fruit with an excellent natural balance of acid and sugar. The vines were harvested in September and early October. Ten percent of the Pinot Noir crop was whole-berry fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruitiness of the grapes; the juice was then aged in newer French oak barrels for eleven months. This full-bodied yet smooth Pinot Noir serves up an array of raspberry and plum flavors with a lingering finish.KENWOOD RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR 2005
