What to Expect

Merlot has gotten a bad rap as of late but there is no denying the wine's appeal. Packed with deep, dark berry fruit and nuanced hints of cocoa, herb and earth with a soft structure. Its velvety texture makes Merlot instantly appealing and an obvious alternative to similar, more tannic Bordeaux varieties.

Reviews

Source: WinoWorld

Kenwood Vineyards creates its award-winning Sonoma County Merlot from vineyards located in the Sonoma, Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. Grapes harvested in the cooler Sonoma Valley region are deep in color with intense berry flavors. Winemaker Mike Lee balances the blend with produce from the warmer Dry Creek and Alexander Valley regions, that grow fruitier grapes. The resulting wine is ripe, supple and well-proportioned.

Fruit aromas of black currants and figs followed by nutmeg and vanilla from French oak. Full-bodied with smooth tannins and a long finish.

This delightful and approachable Merlot is an ideal accompaniment to pork, veal and lamb dishes, or for simply enjoying on it's own.
