User Reviews for Kenwood Chardonnay Yulupa

Winemaker's Notes:

Kenwood Vineyards Yulupa Chardonnay was created in the early 1990s to meet the growing demand for restaurant wine-by-the-glass listings. The wine is made in a pleasant, fruity style and pairs nicely with a wide range of foods. The vineyards used for the 2011 Yulupa Chardonnay were harvested in September after a cool summer that preserved the grapes’ natural acidity and fresh fruit flavors. Eighty percent of the juice was fermented in French oak and aged on the lees. Of these lots, 60 percent underwent malolactic fermentation. The remaining juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the bright, fresh fruit flavors balanced in this wine.

Tasting Notes:

Delicious stone fruit aromas of peach and apricot are followed by sweet vanilla and tropical fruit notes in the mouth. The viscous mouthfeel is balanced by refreshing acidity and a smooth creamy finish.
