Kenneth Volk Zinfandel Lime Kiln Valley Enz Vineyard 2007
External Review by NapaCabs.com:
Winemaker's Notes - Lime Kiln Valley is one of the oldest but least known American Viticultural Areas in California. Adjacent to the San Andreas Fault, the Enz Vineyard is in the rugged Gavilan Mountains located 24 miles east of Monterey Bay. Lime Kiln Valley supported an active lime quarry which produced quicklime for much of the mortar and construction of San Francisco in the late 1800 s. Originally planted in 1895, this head trained, dry farmed vineyard continues to flourish, producing delicious aromatic wines.
