Food Pairings for Kenefick Ranch Pickett Road Red Estate Grown Napa Valley
The blend of this wine caught my eye and along with the fact that Kenefick Ranch sells fruit to some of the top producers in Napa, was the deciding factor for purchase. I'm quite glad I did. The Petit Verdot provides prodigious structure and dark, brooding fruit. Lots of very ripe plum, blueberries and currants wrapped around cedarwood, cinnamon and (thanks to the top class Merlot) wonderful hints of cocoa.
The Pickett Road Red has extremely deep complex aromas of cassis, ripe currants, plum, cinnamon, and a hint of floral blossoms. The palate consists of copious layers of ripe blueberry and fresh blackberries, tamarind, and hints of baker's chocolate. Unfiltered and Unfined.
496 cases produced.
Aged 18 months in French Oak.
Notes: 60% New, 40% Neutral
