Kenefick Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon(2004)

The 2004 Kenefick Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a combination of our rocky hillside blocks and well-drained alluvial soils closer to the valley floor. These factors combine to yield complex layers of rich texture and a bold presence of ripe fruits. You will notice that the aromatics create a matrix of wild blackberry, licorice, and vanilla bean. The palate provides a strong backbone of plum, dark fruit, ripe tannin, and well-integrated French oak. This wine will drink now to 2020.

Cassis, anise and caramelly vanilla on the nose lead to intense fruit on the front of your palate, the aromatics carry through on the palate leaving the finish with all the anise it introduces in the bouquet. Lovely and well balanced, this wine is so well structured it should last for quite some time.

This wine is massive! From the bold aromas of chocolate and espresso on the nose, to the dark chocolate and blackberry flavors, to the long and delightful finish, this wine is not shy. Not only are you hit with a huge, complex nose, the structure of this wine is just perfect and the tannins make me think this wine, while drinkable now, could lay down nicely for up to 10 years. Truly a phenomenal Napa Cab, and at a pretty reasonable price. I say worth every penny!
