Kendall Jackson Vintners Reserve Chardonnay 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

Every grape for the Vintner's Reserve wines is grown in cool coastal vineyards that are managed by the Kendall-Jackson viticultural team. Vintner’s Reserve is where it all began, back in 1982 when Jess Jackson crafted the first bottle of Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay, which gained immediate attention for its unique, bright fruitiness. The 1983 release of Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay won the first Double Platinum Award ever presented by the American Wine Competition. The heart of the Kendall-Jackson portfolio, the Vintner’s Reserve series has continued to win accolades year after year, becoming perennial consumer favorites. America's #1 selling Chardonnay for 23 years and counting! Tropical notes of mango and pineapple are punctuated by hints of vanilla and honey. The palate is well-balanced with flavours of citrus, papaya and a touch of toasty oak with fresh acidity that leads to a juicy, lingering finish. Pairs beautifully with white fish, shellfish or creamy, buttery sauces. Enjoy it over the next few years.

After converting the orchard to a vineyard, Jess began selling his grapes to local wineries. In 1982, he produced his first bottle of wine under the Kendall-Jackson label. Jess, a founding member of Family Winemakers of California, his wife Barbara Banke, and his family still run the day-to-day business of the winery. "When my family and I founded Kendall-Jackson in 1982, we simply wanted to create extraordinary wine from California's best vineyards," remembers Jess. "In 1983 our Chardonnay won the first Platinum Award ever presented by the American Wine Competition. For nearly three decades, we have been America's favorite wine. We grow grapes on some 14,000 acres of California Coastal vineyards, and continue to evolve our practices and increase the quality of our wines. My family will always be committed to creating the very best wine we can. We hope you enjoy our wine as much as we enjoy making it." Read less
