Kendall-Jackson Sauvignon Blanc California Vintner's Reserve 2009
The nose showed ripe peach up front with notes of kiwi and lime. With time in the glass, aromas of green grass and spicy minerals joined the ripe fruits to present a very balanced bouquet. On the palate, it was crisp yet medium-bodied with melon, rich white fruits and a hint of bitter citrus. The finish tapered off with lasting pear and mouthwatering citrus notes.

Clean, controlled and confidently focused on lightly grassy, green-melon fruit from front to back, this well-made, medium-full-bodied Sauvignon steers down the center of the varietal road without getting too pungent, too heavy or too stiff. It is, in short, a balanced and eminently likeable wine that is approachable now, but one whose stamina should hold it in good stead for several years.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

This is good Sauvignon Blanc whose touch of oak adds cream and vanilla. The underlying wine shows Lake County balance, with citrus, lemongrass, peach and green apple flavors accented by crisp acidity, and finished with honey.
A really good job from K-J. For 11 bucks you get a bone-dry, crisp white wine, filled with savory citrus, fig, vanilla and white pepper flavors. This versatile wine will go with just about anything.

The 1997 Sauvignon Blanc Vintnerrsquo;s Reserve is a crisp, soft, light-bodied, fruity wine with a melony character. Drink it over the next 12 months.
Clean and crisp, with classic flavors of lemons, limes and gooseberries, softened with a touch of buttercream and vanilla. The finish is fine and has a touch of sweet honeysuckle. A good value.
