The Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve has to be one of my favorite in-expensive white wines. Great value for a nice, crisp, dry chardonnay.

I really love this wine. Its become a staple in my collection. Its definitely befitting a wine evening. Mildly fruity and not too dry.

In what must be the New World's finest value in Chardonnay, there are slightly more than two million cases of the 2005 Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay, for the first time made completely from Jackson Estate vineyards. Eighty-five percent barrel fermented, with malolactic fermentation, this is undeniably the finest Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay K-J has yet made. A beautiful nose of orange skins, honeysuckle, and tropical fruit is followed by a medium-bodied effort with terrific fruit, good acidity, a subtle influence of wood, and a crisp finish.
Tasted just after bottling, the wine was a little bottle-shocked, but should be fine by Summer 2010. Rich and creamy, with complex tropical fruit, buttered toast, lemondrop candy and honeysuckle flavors. An amazing 111,000 cases were produced.
Oaky, fat and slightly sweet, with creamy flavors of pineapples, buttered popcorn and vanilla. A good approximation of a Burgundian-style California Chardonnay at a fair price.
Ripe with fruity flavors, oaky, and on the sweet side, a decent everyday sipper. It tastes like a tropical fruit sorbet, with good acidity.
The uniformity and consistency of this Chardonnay over the years have been amazing. The 1997 is less sweet than previous examples, revealing and attractive tropical fruit and citrusy-scented nose, good ripeness, medium body, and off-dry flavors that are nicely balanced by the winersquo;s acidity. Drink this fresh, lively Chardonnay over the next year.
The Vintnerrsquo;s Reserve series includes the 2003 Vintnerrsquo;s Reserve Chardonnay, perhaps the finest example of this cuvee yet produced. There are 1.9 million cases, and it is the same wine no matter when it is bottled. Approximately 80% comes from the estate vineyards, and, amazingly, the entire cuveacute;e is aged for 6ndash;9 months in both French and American oak. Lees stirring is done for about one month. Undeniably the best Chardonnay for the price in the marketplace, it offers notes of crushed minerals intermixed with lemon custard, orange skins, and tropical fruits. This crisp, medium-bodied, elegant, dry Chardonnay is an astonishing achievement considering the quantity produced as well as its price.
A clean, correct California Chardonnay, reliable as ever. Pear, peach and citrus flavors go down easily, buffered by graham crackery spice.
