Good Chardonnay for the money. It was better at $10 - $11 but things have changed. A lot of wood, but a good standby Chard when in doubt. Read more
Food Pairings for Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay California Vintner's Reserve
Editorial Reviews for Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay California Vintner's Reserve
Sweet and fruity on the nose with notes of pear and pineapple accented by toasty wood spice and some green sap wood notes. Rather rich in the mouth with vivid acids that more than balance out the sweetness. This is almost Loire Valley Chenin-like with its combination of sweetness and blazing acidity. The fruit has a nice creamy edge with lots of caramel corn framing notes to the core of pineapple and green apple fruit. Finishes with spice, a touch of heat and some zesty, acid-driven fruit flavors. A lot of wine, too much actually, with the acidity becoming intrusive as you get used to the sweetness here. I’d rather not. 83pts
Sweet and quite spicy on the nose with heavy pineapple and papaya aromas topped with a bit of caramel and a touch of dried ginger. A bit round and heavy on entry with nice acidity, but dried fruit flavors make this seem a bit dull. The flavors tend towards the dried mango and pineapple end of the spectrum with a juicy pop of lemon on the midpalate and oak influences which are fairly restrained, adding a spicy underlay and framing notes of vanilla through the back end. The finish is simple with lemon juice and egg cream flavors. Serviceable if a bit anonymous. 84pts Acidity: Medium Perceived Sweetness: Low Oak: Medium Low Spicy Flavors: Medium Savory Flavors: Low Fruity Flavors: Medium Intensity of Flavor: Medium Weight in Mouth: Medium High

best value for the price in U.S. Chard; Color-gold; nose-lemon & Apple; mouth-pear nectar; finish - medium linger; buy it drink it and try aging it! I have.
My standby Chardonnay. No one will ever knock this wine unless they're a wine snob and see the label. Pick up a few cases at 10 bucks a pop and you'll be set.
To Heavy on wood...can't stand drinking a bottle.
Very smooth nice white wine
This had a good medium oaky taste, a nice lingering finish, medium body with a nice slight lingering finish to it. the price is great and has the standard expected quality from kendall jackson.
Great white wine. Good for people who love oaky smell and sweet-taste. My friend could not believe it costs only $15/bottle.

kendall continues their streak of top-notch wines. Loads of tropical fruit, surprisingly deep texture, medium body, and wonderful purity results in crisp, elegant, dry Chardonnay." Robert M. Parker Jr., Wine Advocate
Tropical flavors such as mango and pineapple dance with aromas of peach, apple and pear. Richly layered and balanced throughout. Lightly buttered toast headlines the indulgent, lingering finish.
Here’s a rich, flashy Chardonnay. It has a fat, butter-and-cream mouthfeel, with waves of pineapple tart, lemon meringue, buttered toast and honey flavors that finish soft and lush
The Kendall-Jackson 2005 Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay is a tropical fruit explosion. Flavors of mango and pineapple are noticed immediately, then you'll notice peach, apples, and pear. The finish is long with hints of sweet toast. A
The ubiquitous, omnipresent, 2.23 million cases of 2012 Chardonnay Vintner’s Reserve attracts all sorts of ground fire from bloggers and critics, who are incredulous that anyone could barrel ferment every ounce of this wine, which is sourced from the Jackson Family vineyards, 80% of which are in the Central Coast and 20% in Mendocino and Sonoma. Every barrel is stirred once a month, and the wine is kept on its lees for six months. Much has been made of a secret formula that adds sugar or, as the Germans do, suss reserve, but the wine tastes relatively dry, and that is confirmed by lab tests. Few honest people would call this a sweet, cloying Chardonnay. The beautiful 2012 Chardonnay Vintner’s Reserve offers lots of white peach, pineapple and honeysuckle notes, no oak, a lovely texture and fresh, lively flavors. Who knows how many retailers stack bottles of this in their windows and expose it to heat, but if properly stored, this is the real deal… again. It should provide plenty of pleasure over the next year.
The 2010 Chardonnay Vintner’s Reserve wraps around the palate with layers of expressive fruit. Butterscotch, spices, flowers and hazelnuts add complexity. This is another fabulous value. The entire 2,000,000 case production is made from estate-owned vineyards, which is simply mind-boggling to contemplate. Frequent lees-stirring and aging in French oak barrels impart a level of textural richness that is uncommon for a wine in this price range. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2014.
This is clean and dry, with crisp acidity. It’s leaner than many richer Chardonnays, but shows plenty of wealth and creaminess, and citrus and pear flavors. A nice partner to roasted chicken or broiled halibut.
