Kendall-Jackson Cabernet Sauvignon California 2004
Elevation:900 – 2,200 feet above sea level. Source:Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Clonal Selection:Clones 4, 7 and 337 grafted on 5C, 3309C, 101-14 and 110R rootstock. Canopy:Geneva Double Curtain (GDC) and Vertical Shoot Positioned (VSP). Soil:Shallow, rocky and gravelly loam. Steep hillsides, some are slightly terraced. Low amounts of available water and soil moisture capacity forces a reduction in berry and cluster size enhancing flavor concentration and color intensity. Flavor Profile:Deep black cherry and cassis flavor with concentrated mineral and terroirial tones. Well extracted, elegantly muscular, with chewy, soft tannins. Climate:Cool days and warm nights in this mountain area above the fog. Of Note: From its highest point, views include Knights Valley, Sonoma Mountain, Taylor Peak, the Sonoma Coastal Range, Russian River Valley, Dry Creek and Alexander Valley.
Can only go by my tasting ... but it was awesome ... will drink the bottle in 2 to 3 years.
Moderate berry and plum aroma with hint of tobacco and dark earth. Plush satin texture, Long, satisfying finish, leaves you begging for more. Drink now. Ooh La Lah, I like very much.
