Food Pairings for Ken Wright Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Meredith Mitchell Vineyard
Tasted from Barrel at the winery, Memorial Day 2010. This wine is already showing wondefully complex notes of blackberry and graham cracker. This was darker than most of the other's we tasted at the winery and definitely one we will be purchasing upon release. Note: 2009 is looking like it will be a "drink now" sort of vintage like 2006
We found it to be very elegant without much tannins. As it opened up it seemed to get a bit more complex. We paired it with a panko crusted flounder and some salmon sashimi - it was very food friendly.

Light and satiny, with modest tannins around a delicate core of cherry, raspberry and coffee flavors, fleshing out more on the long finish. Drink now through 2017.
Bright ruby. Sexy aromas of raspberry preserves, vanilla and mocha, with a hint of orange peel adding lift and an exotic touch. Juicy and very fresh, offering sappy red fruit flavors that pick up a refreshingly bitter edge on the back half. Shows a hint of warmth on the finish, which features jammy red berry character and a late note of white pepper.
One of Oregon Pinot Noir specialist Ken Wrightrsquo;s new releases, this has a purity of flavors and a graceful balance that are totally disarming. A seductive wine, its pretty raspberry, black cherry and floral aromas and flavors linger enticingly on the open-textured finish. best from 2001 through 2008.
An entry into the world of iconic Oregon producer Ken Wright. This is a light raspberry, floral pinot with a casual mix of baking spices on the nose and palate. Lush and pure fruit is this winemaker's hallmark and this blend of single vineyards delivers in spades. its food-friendly acidity demands a partnering with wild mushrooms, lightly sautéed or a coq au vin.
This wine is Ken Wright Cellars' first blend that encompasses all of its single-vineyard Pinot Noir sites -- including Abbott Claim, Canary Hill, Carter, Freedom Hill, Guadalupe, McCrone, Meredith Mitchell, Nysa and Savoya vineyards.
