Tasted from Barrel at the winery, Memorial Day 2010. This wine is already showing wondefully complex notes of blackberry and graham cracker. This was darker than most of the other's we tasted at the winery and definitely one we will be purchasing upon release. Note: 2009 is looking like it will be a "drink now" sort of vintage like 2006
We found it to be very elegant without much tannins. As it opened up it seemed to get a bit more complex. We paired it with a panko crusted flounder and some salmon sashimi - it was very food friendly.

Bright ruby. Sexy aromas of raspberry preserves, vanilla and mocha, with a hint of orange peel adding lift and an exotic touch. Juicy and very fresh, offering sappy red fruit flavors that pick up a refreshingly bitter edge on the back half. Shows a hint of warmth on the finish, which features jammy red berry character and a late note of white pepper.
Light and satiny, with modest tannins around a delicate core of cherry, raspberry and coffee flavors, fleshing out more on the long finish. Drink now through 2017.
