Ken Wright Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2002
A particularly warm and beautiful growing season produced fruit with the highest sugar concentrations we had experienced to date. The '02 vintage has the potential to be on par with 1990, our favorite. Across the board the wines are rich, balanced and detailed. These are big wines for the variety but are not overblown.
Deep ruby/ purple, very clear with little or no legs. Nose of berry, earth, chocolate, and some minerality. Opened at dinner @ Auriga, and am at home now with last half of bottle. Acidity has calmed down from three hours ago, softening nicely to allow the fruti to show more. Soft medium weight mouthfeel with a must fruit quality that draws me back. Wow the finish is going on for a good 20 seconds or more. The chocolate notes on the nose show mixed with a damp earth note on the finish. Neat wine, hope to try more of Ken's soon. [NR]
Rich plum-like nose. A little oak melded in. Sweet flavors with mustiness in nose. With time, reveals fresh hay and cherry. Gets better with time, but maybe a litlle alcoholic. Not as smooth as the Amisfield PN 04 or the Dom Chandon les Collines 05, tasted at the same time.
Drank Oct 2007. Five years after vintage, this wine was at peak maturity. Fruit forward, displaying all the characteristics of both the varietal and the terrior.

A red fruit-dominated beauty, the 2002 Pinot Noir Carter Vineyard is medium-bodied, juicy, has outstanding depth of fruit, excellent balance, and a long sweet finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
A Pinot Noir wine from Oregon in USA. 2002 Ken Wright Cellars Pinot Noir Nysa Vineyard 750ml
Medium-bodied and silky-textured, the 2002 Pinot Noir Elton Vineyard sports a spicy red berry-scented nose. Its flavor profile is dominated by red cherries, yet notes of currants come to the fore in the finish. Less plush than other Ken Wright offerings, it is well-focused, delineated, and reveals copious quantities of tannin in its long finish.
