Ken Wright Pinot Noir Canary Hill(2004)
An awesome Spring that had us three weeks ahead of normal gave way to cool and wet weather in the first week of June. This inclement weather coincided with flowering in most of our vineyard sites. As a result, natural crop levels averaged a microscopic .8 tons per acre.
The combination of a small crop and the great spring weather gave us an early harvest which began on the 9th of September. The wines are expressive, balanced, elegant and ageworthy.

- My favorite Ken Wright vineyard. Nice nose, don't lay it down too long, it's good now.
- August 2008
- Fantastic Pinot ready to drink. Ken Wright makes great Pinots all across the board and this is one of the best.

- Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2006! Located at the southern end of the Eola Hills and faces southeast. The vines were planted in 1982 and 1983. They are vertically trellised and are of the Pommard clone. Elevation is 450' to 550'. The soil is a mix of Jory and Nekia. Both are formed from igneous rock and have a reddish-brown tint. This site, however, has less depth than similar soils in the Dundee Hills. Wine from this vineyard is typically very forward, with aromas of black cherry and cola. Approximately 625 cases are produced. The vineyard is owned by Dick and Nancy Daniel, and managed by Mark Gould.
