Ken Wright Cellars 'Savoya Vineyard' Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton District 2012

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

The translucent ruby core has little fading to the rim. The nose is bright and fresh. Notes of crunchy raspberry strawberry grilled lamb fern and freshly cut flowers. On the palate there is a smokey quality followed by firm round tannins. Lively acidity balances the palates weight and the finish is quite mineral driven. This is ready to drink and will age well for 2-4 years. Ian Conroy.

With a clarity and breadth that is unequaled by other varieties, we believe Pinot noir best expresses the character of these sites. Rather than stamping wine with a varietal trademark, we see Pinot noir as a vehicle for conveying the aroma, flavor and texture of the location in which it is grown. We also have a place in our hearts for the limited production of two white wines, Chardonnay from Celilo Vineyard near White Salmon, Washington, and Pinot Blanc from Freedom Hill Vineyard. Read less
