Ken Forrester Pinotage Stellenbosch Petit Pinotage 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

86 points Wine Spectator: Soft and fruity, with plum, blackberry and vanilla notes that mingle on the open-knit finish. A dash of grip keeps it honest. Drink now. (2010)

This was a terrible wine that tasted like rotten breadfruit. This wine should be avoided at all costs.

The nose isn't particularly offensive with over-ripe fruit. Initial palate is likewise deep ripe currant and plum, but very heavy Latakia-tinted tobacco comes on strong. Perhaps if you really, really dig tobacco flavored wine you'll like this one. But there's a disturbing chemical finish that's really very awful. I agree with the "avoid" review.

Aromas of spicy mulberries, plum pudding and cherries, supported by smoky bacon nuances. Juicy and accessible with a soft palate and a delicious fruit concentration.
