Kelley & Young Rosé Blend Alexander Valley Nuits de Young Robert Young Vineyards 2008
The 2008 Nuits de Young is made from ripe Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec grapes picked at the perfect ripeness for this rich, garnet rosé. The juice sat on the skins for just a bit to pick up richness and flavors, but then was gently pressed to lessen the extraction of tannins resulting in a soft, beautifully round and lush wine. It’s like drinking velvet. This wine is perfect as a red wine aperitif, as an accompaniment to light red meats and is perfect with a cheese course or fresh fruit dessert. Bottled in an elegant 750 ml Bordeaux bottle with a richly gold silk screened label, this is perfect for holiday gift giving. Remember, during this time of giving, don’t forget to give yourself a gift too.
