Today the name of Tramin is inextricably linked with the famous Aromatic Traminer wine, or Gewürztraminer. Ancient sources testify that already in the early Middle Ages this was a famous vine-growing and wine-producing area: the Retii (established in these parts around the first millennium BC) were familiar with wine-making, and the Romans probably drew from their experience (it appears that they learned the use of wooden barrels from them). This splendid strip of Alto Adige, consisting today of the towns of Tramin, Egna, Montagna and Ora, has since antiquity provided the ideal requirements to produce great wines. Such requirements are the result of the successful combination of human industry and favourable environmental factors, which include sunny slopes with varying soil types, specific microclimatic zones and an altitude that varies between 250 and 700 meters above sea level. These elements make Tramin a place of harmonious beauty, where the vineyards are an integral part of the enchanting landscape. Read less

Herbal lemon aroma with fresh cut grass, flowers, and stone fruit. Thin sharp body with peach on the finish.

Slight green hue. Wonderfully refreshing mouthfeel with a rush of tropical fruits but not overwhelming. Hints of lemon, grass, and minerals. Wonderful summer wine and would seek it out again. Well balanced in acidity and sweetness.

The nose showedalmond skins, green apple and young peach, yellow grasses, and minerals. On the palate, it was soft and enveloping, almost oily in texture, with a medium body and a hint of sweetness to its clean peach and pineapple fruits. The finish was fresh, showing green apple and a hint of tart citrus.

Alto Adige is the northern part of the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy that borders the Austrian Tyrol. It was ceded to Italy only after the First World War. This region owes its Italian name of "Alto-Adige" to the river Adige that flows through on its way to the Adriatic. The sleepy village of Termeno/Tramin is thought to be the birthplace of the Traminer white grape variety, also known as Gewurztraminer. In 2004 Will Strz, the winemaker at Tramin, was nominated "Italian winemaker of the Year" by the prestigious Gambero Rosso and makes some of the best white wines in Italy. Tramin proudly holds the "Stella", the star awarded to a winery for achieving the prestigious "3 Bicchieri" 10 times. Tasting Notes:

Pinot Bianco is part of the Burgundian Pinot family and is related to Pinot Grigio and the principal grape of Pinot family, Pinot Noir. As a wine, Pinot Blanc feels fresh and rich yet dry. It has a greenish yellow to light yellow color and light scents of green apple. The wine also shows a complex nutty flavor and hints of green leaves. It feels balanced between richness of texture and bright acidity.

The grapes for this wine were harvested in small bins and then gently pressed off to steel tanks where the must was allowed to ferment at controlled temperature (19 ° C) without malolactic fermentation.
