Keller Estate la Cruz Vineyard Pinot Noir 2004

External Review by Prestige Wine & Spirits:

The aromas are a cornucopia of fruit with cherry, raspberries and blueberries and orange along with notes of sweet oak, juniper, tobacco and mineral highlights. Cherry, blueberry and mineral are the main flavors with vanilla and sweet oak adding complexity. This wine has impact on the pallet with its intensity, but this is not a flash in the pan style of Pinot. This is an elegant wine built to age gracefully over the medium term, with good acidity, fine tannins and long finish. While a bit young on release, it will evolve beautifully, and is best enjoyed from 2007–2012.

Rich and ripe in fruit and oak, this dry Pinot has cherry, cola, plum, balsam and smoky vanilla flavors. It’s a little too soft in acidity, though, which makes it feel simple.

Loamy earth, forest floor and dried cherry fruit give this a decadent edge. Intense and well-proportioned, ending on a delicate note. Drink now through 2011.
