Very dark, deep plum color. Some earthiness on the nose, som prune hints slight alcoholic volativity. Initial mouth sensation seem unusual for merlot: almost sweet, some mint, then comes some oak. As the wine moves over the palate, very puckery tannin is detected around the edge of the tongue. Nice acidic tartness. Mint sensation returns on the finish.
