Katogi & Strofilia S. A. Xinomavro Naoussa 2005
Vinification: Cold maceration in a temperature of 15ο C for 7 days. Fermentation for 2-3 weeks in a temperature of 30-32ο C. The malolactic fermentation takes place in oak barrels and the wine stays within its yeasts for 2 months (under regular battonage process) and it matures for more than 10-12 months in the barrels. Analysis: Alcohol: 13 % Vol Total Acidity: 5,3 gr/lt pH: 3,6 Residual Sugar: <1 gr/lt
I really enjoyed this wine. Very complex flavor with a long-lasting fruity finish. Medium bodied with soft tannins. Nose had hints of both black and red berries. Taste had red berries with a distinct hint of black liquorish.
Ruby color. Very complex nose with berries, smoky aromas, leather. On the palate rounded tannins, orange peel, red and black berries, good long finish. Really enjoyed it.
