Katherine Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon Crazy Creek Vyd. Alexander Valley 2013

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Named for his daughter, whom he worked with to make the wine and from a vineyard that Nick Goldschmidt has been farming since 1989 this 2013 Katherine Goldschmidt is a winner. The Crazy Creek Vineyard in Alexander Valley is a unique plot growing old vine Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2013 which was a vintage that was absolutely stellar start to finish, it brought low-yield Cabernet grapes with intense flavor and ideal balance. 100% Cab Sauv, the wine was aged 18 months in 20% new oak, a combination of French, American and Hungarian. This wine received a Gold Medal and a 94 point rating from the Press Democrat North Coast Wine Challenge. They said "Polished balanced, seamless marriage of tannin, fruit & oak." Pure Cabernet enchantment.
