User Reviews for Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane Vineyard

Winemaker's Notes:

In 2003, Karl Lawrence co-founders Michael Trujillo and Bryan Henry bought their first small batch of fruit from a section of Andy Becksoffer's vineyard called Dr. Crane, named for Dr. George Belden Crane, who first planted that parcel in 1859. The following year, so pleased were they with the quality of these grapes, the two made a stand-along cuvée bearing the Crane moniker. Dark fruits (blackberry, cassis) mark the aromatics, while in the mouth notes of vanilla, chocolate, and Pauillac-esque graphite emerge. The structure and balance are out of this world, really Bordeaux-like, with sneaky, fine-grained tannins offering support with dominating.
