This is one of those rare wines that you don't soon forget. Deep gold color, tartrate crystals on the cork, beautiful nose, gobs of fruit, honey, lime and mineral notes, long finish, excellent acid balance and nice richness. I've been tasting German wines since the '71 vintage and must say that this is about as good as spatlese gets. Impressive. Caution- there are some corked bottles of this wine. My rating -- 97 --------- The Rheingau upholds its reputation.
