The historic State Lane Vineyard, in the heart of the Napa Valley was first leased by Beringer Estates in 1972 from the McClaskey Family. In 1979, Beringer Estates began bottling the State Lane Cabernet Sauvignon as a single vineyard designated wine. The remaining grapes were used to launch the now famous Beringer Estates Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon program. State Lane remained the cornerstone of the Private Reserve wines until 1999 when phylloxera destroyed the vines. Our family – Lou, Roberta and son Louis Jr. – purchased the property in May, 2000. This vineyard was known to us for many years from Beringer's winemaker’s Myron Nightingale and Ed Sbragia. The wines from State Lane vineyard continued to be highly sought after. The 1995 State Lane Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded 95 points by the Wine Spectator as the top Cabernet Sauvignon in California. Robert Parker has consistently rated the wines at 90-plus points. In 2001, we teamed up with legendary winemaker Helen Turley and her viticulturist husband John Wetlaufer. We conducted comprehensive investigations of soils profile, physical properties, soils chemistry, geological formation and drainage. To our amazement and pleasure, we discovered a unique vineyard with multiple micro-geological conditions. We have great respect, admiration and love for this very special land in Yountville, CA, and decided to redevelop the vineyard for its utmost potential and produce world-class red wines under our family label. We replanted State Lane Vineyard to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, in a tightly spaced 3 ft. by 5-1/2 ft. (2,640 vines/acre). A new state of the art wine making facility was completed in September 2005. The vineyard is farmed by Pina Vineyard Management Company, renowend vineyard managers for several of Napa Valley’s premium wines. Our first two vintages of wines the 2003 and 2004 were produced by Helen Turley. For 2005 we brought in Helen Turley’s recommendation; Rob Lawson, the winemaker at Napa Wine Company for the past 16 years, where most of Napa Valley’s super premium wines were originally crafted and are still produced to date along with Denis Malbec, from Chateau Latour, Pauillac; the First Growth winery in Bordeaux, France as our consulting winemakers. In 2007, Denis Malbec became our sole winemaking consultant. Read less

The 2010 Endre is dark sensual and layered. Mocha black cherry plum spice and licorice notes all flesh out in the glass. The 2010 is drinking beautifully but has enough depth to develop nicely for at least another handful of years. Sweet tobacco licorice and dried flowers linger on the finish. The 2010 is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon 43% Merlot 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Antonio Galloni.

Aromas of currant and smoked meat lifted by a floral element. At once sweet and juicy with harmonious acidity giving cut and lift to the complex flavors of currant raspberry licorice tobacco and tea leaf. Surprisingly open at this stage and long on the aftertaste. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Ruby-red. The nose and palate offer a tight core of black fruits and violet, along with a more exotic suggestion of sexy white flowers. Ruby-red. The nose and palate offer a tight core of black fruits and violet along with a more exotic suggestion of sexy white flowers. Very ripe but not overripe in spite of the late-picked cabernet; in fact the wine s floral high tones give it lovely freshness. Finishes with big youthfully rough tannins that will require some patience. This may well surpass the 2008. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

The 2008 Endre (a similar blend with slightly less Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals an elegant nose of licorice, white chocolate, espresso, herbs, black currants and blackberries, soft, silky tannins and abundant fruit. It is ideal for drinking during its... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2008 Kapcsandy Family Winery Endre 750ml
