Pale straw color. A nose of tropical fruit and summer melon with a hint of spice. Crisp and full bodied, the papaya and pineapple flavors ensure a lingering aftertaste. Blend: 88.8% Chenin Blanc, 6% Sauvignon Blanc, 5.2% ChardonnayFood suggestions: An ideal wine to be enjoyed with salads, char-grilled artichokes in olive oil or platters of ripe fruit. Also matches fresh line fish and light, cream-based pastas. A perfect picnic wine.

Wine Tasting NotesPale straw color with a green tinge. A nose of summer melon and tropical fruit with a hint of spice. Crisp, clean, bright and full-bodied, with a lingering aftertaste. Drinking well now but will gain complexity with bottle maturation. An ideal summer wine to be enjoyed with cold meats and salads; smoked chicken; fresh line fish; and light, cream-based pastas. A perfect picnic wine.

Fresh with floral and peach notes followed by a crisp lime-filled finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

The name Kanu is derived from a veteran farm hand on Goedgeloof, who told of the legend of a mythical bird of promise. The story tells that when the bird appeared, all those who fell under its shadow would be blessed with a bountiful harvest. This unoaked Chenin is a pale straw colour. There is an intriguing nose of green melon, nectarines and honeysuckle contrasting with a more savoury celery salt character. Playful spiciness lingers in the background. A broad mid-palate is underpinned by a lively apply acid structure. Lifted floral notes make this wine multi-dimensional in character. Served at 12° - 15° C, this is an ideal summer wine to be enjoyed with salads, chargrilled artichokes in olive oil or platters of ripe summer fruit. Also matches fresh line fish and light, cream-based pastas. A perfect picnic wine.
