Kangarilla Road Vineyard & Winery is based in McLaren Vale South Australia. It was established by Helen and Kevin O'Brien in 1997. Kangarilla Road is the main road running past the vineyard towards the small village of Kangarilla, the name a derivation of the Australian Aboriginal language and refers to the abundance of resources locally. McLaren Vale is for us the best region in Australia to achieve the wine styles that we want to produce. This vineyard and winery - which was originally established back in 1975 - offers us 30 acres of mature vines that contribute rich fruit characters so typical of McLaren Vale. Kevin O'Brien is an oenologist with 20 years experience in the wine industry. Helen O'Brien brings flair to Kangarilla Road and has extensive experience in the public relations, promotions and fashion industries. Read less

FAB fruit bomb, with a huge blast of raspberry and mint that seemed to last for days on the finish. Strong, velvety and super potent. If you are in the mood for vino with the kick of a Hawaiian Punch Very Berry juice box, it's perfect.

The beautiful dark red color was noticed right away and I could smell the fruits as soon as the pour was made. The flavor was velvety and smooth with a bit of snap. Normally not a fan of Syrah, but I will try anything. This was recommended by a server at an upscale restaurant and I found it wonderful, This is not a really bold wine but would stand up nice to most red meats and some chicken dishes. Will seek out again!

Brooke very much liked it, I not so much, but it was very smooth, more bright than other Shirazzez, reminding me of some Cabernets

Sharp on the nose and tongue, better after some time to breath.

Why did the Kangaroo cross thehellip; oh, forget it. Nicely proportioned, with the requisite spicy, juicy dark plum and blackberry flavors, fashioned with enough oak to bring a toasty vanillin undertone to the party. Tannins are supple, but present enough to prop up this potently extracted Shiraz.

The outstanding, deep purple-colored 2001 Shiraz possesses all the opulence, fat, and full-bodied characteristics one expects from a McLaren Vale Shiraz. Notes of spice, oak, figs, blackberries, and dark cherries make an appearance in this lovely, pure, textured offering.

Solid, offering blueberry and plum fruit shaded with toast and licorice notes on the smooth finish. Drink now through 2005.
