Kamen Kashmir Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

Good deep ruby. Cassis, minerals and coffee on the expressive nose. Tightly wound and firmly built, with terrific lift to the dark berry, chocolate, mineral and leather flavors. Not nearly as open-knit or harmonious today as the regular cabernet bottling but this is ultimately sweeter and more exotic. Really stains the palate on the aftertaste, but give this at least three years of cellaring. This special bottling is a selection of six barrels meant to offer the strongest chocolate-and-mineral expression of this vineyard, which is located on the Sonoma side of Mt. Veeder.

The limited production 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Kashmir is a selection of Kamen’s two best barrels. It exhibits a dense character, significant structure, and copious amounts of chocolaty, black fruits intermixed with scorched earth, good underlying minerality, and a full-bodied, powerful, expressive style.
