Tasted at Geneva tasting 4/18/2010
After decanting for 15 minutes, toffee and caramel notes become obvious. After a half hour, a surprising rhubarb note. This thing just keeps opening up! Give it a chance. It's much better than a 3 our of 5.

Deep colour, on the nose the alcohol is strong and not a lot of fruit comes through in the nose - some dark berry. Very dry lots of tannins that linger - Blackberry with a very mild hint of mocha and some oak.

WA 90pts. - According to the Wine Advocate: Dark cherry red; expressive nose, balsamic, sage, thyme, black fruits, superb volume and length.
KAIKEN Malbec, Reserve: Of a deep violet color, warm in the nose, with notes of ripe fruit and traces of tobacco and butterscotch. In the mouth it displays intensity, with strong, fleshy tannins; while at the same time juicy and enveloping; with a long, persistent finish. A harmonious liaison with the wood, makes of this wine a fine example of the Mendoza terroir.
Kaiken Malbec presents a vivid ruby red color with purple hues. On the mouth, mature red fruits and chocolate are vividly present, mixing harmoniously with the oak, while violet aromas enhance the wines complexity on the nose. A velvety wine, with excellent structure and abundant, mature tannins providing unequaled silkiness. The wine is a faithful exponent of Malbecs potential in Argentina, with unique characteristics, blending both intensity and softness along with a long and persistent finish.
Handsome ruby red color. Outstanding and concentrated fruit, with beautiful aromas of red berries, black cherry and hints of tobaccos. A full-bodied wine. Round and velvety in mid-palate, with soft tannins. An added touch of vanilla and toast, followed by a long and smooth finish. Very, very elegant.
