Kabaj Morel Rebula 2007
Kabaj is located in the hills of Goriska Brda, Slovenia, near Collio, Italy. Thier 29 acres of hand-tended mature vines are planted in deep Marl soils. All Kabaj wines are fermented with native yeast and held a minimum of three years before release. Rebula, an ancient variety, when left on its skins will produce deep, spicy, age-worthy wines like this one.
A beautiful white with deep character. The nose is rich and buttery and the first sip explodes with apple and pear up front gently adding raisiny richness through the middle with a sherry-like quality and a building sense of white pepper on the finish. I would drink this all day long and die happy.
