Justin Vineyards & Winery Syrah Paso Robles 2005
2005 Justin Syrah Paso Robles is Inky black with a light purple edge, our 2005 Syrah is rich in flavor and depth. The nose has layers of black fruit, pepper, wet stone and overtones of bacon fat and smoke. The palate is soft upon entry, yielding bing cherry, cassis and evolving into a weighty mid plate that defines complexity. The finish of this 100% Syrah is soft, lengthy, and enriched with supple, elegant tannins. This is a California Wine.

Deep ruby. Peppery cherry and dark berry aromas display a smoky, vanilla-accented personality and a strong ripe character. Sweet blackberry and cassis flavors are firmed by chewy tannins and pick up a subtle peppery character on the close. The vanilla note echoes through the finish, giving this a lightly confectionery character.
The essence of Paso Robles: red fruit with the dust of the road, the volcanic soils providing a distinct grit, shimmering as a mirage in the sun. The wine is laden with spice, crushed cinnamon, dried roses, rosemary and while there isn't a powerful fruit element, the overall impact is bold and savory. An honest, country red for summer entertaining.
Firm, with mineral, spice, pepper, sage, dried berry and stewed plum fruit that's tight and closed. Decant. Drink now through 2011.
The deep ruby-colored 2001 Syrah possesses blackberry and cherry fruit, soft tannin, a hint of wood in the background, and a plump, fleshy personality. Drink this uncomplicated effort over the next 2-3 years.
