Justin Paso Robles Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"Pale straw with a brilliant rim. Ripe lemon, yellow apple, white peach with white pepper and guava notes. Lemon with green apple, yellow apple skin, and white peach on the entry. Mid palate shows white pepper and sustained fruit, with some tropical notes of guava and pineapple, along with a nice mineral texture on a long crisp fi nish. Great served chilled with appetizers, goatmilk cheese, or other fresh cheeses. It’s also delicious on its own during a hot summer day as a refreshing aperitif." -Winery Notes

Nice nose of lime, grapefruit, green apple with grass and citrus flower. Balanced and clean with nice lemon-lime and guava with passion fruit and a nice minerality. Green apple as well. Nice and refreshing. 90 pts. 9/1/12 at winery

I love Justin wines overall and this one is another great example of why you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Crisp acidity with nice hints of tropical fruit and pear, perfect for summer day.

The tasting notes from the winery say "tart, almost shockingly dry." That is very accurate. Honestly, even the guy pouring in the tasting room seemed to be trying to 'warn' people about it.

Terrible! Pale in the glass, average nose of mineral and nothing more. Slate smell. Crsp mouthfeel, but again, all you taste are rocks. No balance, no fruit. Just dry "dusty" and unpleasant. No one liked it. Steer clear. Bleh! - Schreiner's Winers "Springtime Sauvignon Blanc" Tasting 3/12/10

The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc has a light, translucent hue containing just light straw colored rim. The aroma combines multiple tropical characters including kiwi, grapefruit, fresh peeled tangerine, pineapple and orange zest. The entry is soft and layered, with Meyer lemon, melon and herbal characters that lead into a mid-palate combining bright, fresh acidity with a slightly creamy, balanced mouth feel. The finish is crisp, clean and perfect for warm days, summer nights, or side by side with fresh fish or fruit.
